Blackbird Poetry

Should I believe what you say? Cuz Baby, I don't think so... There's no use in holding on When we have to tip toe. So should I believe what you said? What you say and do's so different There's no use payin the rent When you haven't!! Cuz you like to talk too much-. I've seen it in your eyes There's no room for love when Ego has no disguise. I'm movin on from yesterday Packing my bags and leavin tomorrow. I've got a full life ahead And I'm going solo. Maybe you think I'll fail... That I'm too weak to decide I'm leaving-  And my  Eyes are open wide.... .

Love is like a flower It's easy to get burned You put it on the line With the hope that love's returned. It can be beautiful and carefree It can be lonesome without doubt It can make you lose your mind  And lead to famine in a drought.  It can be the brightest of suns  Or a stagnant pool of despair Love may conquer all- or  Leave you listless there. It can be so fierce As planes fly overhead It can make you hot and bothered Or fill you with hate instead.  It can make you bitter Never wanting to love again It can rip your heart out Like a true assassin.  Love to me is fragile It's something that you build  It's like a garden that At times needs roto-tilled. Love to me is timeless It transcends throughout the time It's a feeling that you feel  And when it's real everything's aligned.

There's nothing left but Writing on the wall As I sat waiting For the other shoe to fall And now here we are Wondering in vain If I ever dare to speak Your name. When you left, The seasons all stood still You were my friend, my lover But that was until: You walked away- Without saying where you'd go Now no one knows if The truth, we'll ever know. The writing found Encompassed what you said You were searching for unanswered Questions in your head And no one can read Just what you meant to me But if these walls could talk They'd see it so clearly. There's nothing left but  Writing on the wall As I sat waiting For the other shoe to fall And now here we are Wondering in vain If I ever dare to speak  Your name. 

Going to the jungle To get away from you And all we'd done Going to the jungle To get away from you To be faithful to the Holy One. I mustn't heed your glances That watch me quietly into the night. I mustn't long for your advances in the shadows of the moonlight. I must never be alone with you again lest  I fall You'll never know when I'm coming Cuz when you do,  you'll take it all. Going to the jungle To get away from you And all we'd done Going to the jungle To get away from you To be faithful to the Holy One. The jungle swallows everything  The ants eat dead cows whole The locals live in shacks Dear God, please cleanse my soul. The monkeys swing from trees  Away from the jungle floor.  Please keep my soul from lurching  Keep it strong from wanting more.  Going to the jungle To get away from you And all we'd done Going to the jungle To get away from you To be faithful to the Holy One. The lizards cling to branches  The rains...
