Just Call My Name

Image
I'll wait for you --- -When my heart is breaking -When Love's worth the taking -When my mind is aching I'll wait for you -When all the world is closed up - When the flag around us goes up - All alone and close up I'll wait for you- -When the world tries to break you -When they threaten to take you -When they try to wake you I'll wait for you-  Just call my name!

Capitol Hill Summer (Seattle)

Image
Capitol Hill summer People stirring about Mingling in outside tables Everyone walking about.... Jazzy music playing Off in the shadowy haze Oh how I sweetly remember those days.... Airy open windows propped High in busy apartments No one here's a stranger No one knows decent rent. A person walks blocks to clubs  Sometimes late at night. During the weekend  No one's too uptight. Lovely people passing Sometimes famous and known... Capitol Hill is An artist's dream home.  No vacancy signs posted And signs with 'no parking here' Never enough room, Makes boundaries disappear. Diversity welcomed All in one place Drag queens, gays,  hipsters,  Every human race. I have strong memories  Of living here during 9-11 All neighbors joined together Broke bread and shared the leaven We lit candles on our porches Said prayers in our own way There wasn't a conversation Unwelcomed that day.

Give It All Away

Image
Can you take it all away? Like you used to do? Can you encourage me to do What I need to? Is this the life you dreamed? Built on skills and duties formed We're too tired to live our dreams Our futures reinformed. And everyone needs us now, yet The world keeps turning somehow Couldn't we just close up shop today? Can you give it all away? Can you give it all away? With all expected guise, Can you look at things anew With only freshest eyes? Can you be very strong? And say goodbye to what we know Can you live a smaller life ----incognito. Can you give it all away? Like we used to do? Can you encourage me to do What I need to? Can we give away riches we've acquired That left our lives eschew Can we leave them all behind,  Can we bid them all adieu?  Let's give up our objects and things,  Reframe our thoughts of wanting more Unburden our stressful lives,  We don't need them anymore!

You're Such a Fool

You keep knocking at my door But I'm  never going to let you in.  You keep sending flowers Out of desperation..... You're such a fool You keep on calling The only trade off for me is that You keep on falling....  Ooh In love with me I tried so hard,   to get you to call my name I tried so hard  to be your only game.   I once was a crazy fool  Just like you But You smelled of her perfume  And I knew what I had to do!!! I built my walls up  High around me There's nothing inside-  That's not about me.... I've started flirting Just playing the game And now it's over and  You're not winning.   You keep knocking at my door But I'm  never going to let you in.  You keep sending flowers Out of desperation..... You're such a fool You keep on calling The only trade off for me is that You keep on falling....    In love with me-   In love with me, yeah  With me-  You'r

I'm So Sorry..

I was so saddened to hear about his death.  He was such a kind and considerate man.  I read the newspaper and learned my ex-boyfriend's father, had suddenly passed away.  He was such a good man.  He was someone that I looked up to, and I knew I could always count on...  He once helped his son fix my car in sub-zero degree weather.  They worked on it for hours that night..... He was an upstanding citizen that spent much of his life doing public service. (He was a Highway Patrolman.).  He will be missed.  My heart goes out to my long time ex, and the rest of his family...and I'll be thinking about and praying for them as they go through this great loss. I think I saw the tears in your eyes, And I'm so sorry,  I think I saw the tears in your eyes And I'm really so sorry. How do you tell someone this After so many years have past?   How do you say your sorry When only memories last? When we cut off ties When our ten years were over How do you

Runaround

You're such  a runaround Doing what you're doin... Such a runaround Loving every woman And if you could only see, what you do to me,  You'd know I'm the best you'll ever find, But you're a runaround and deceiving me, and I'm  About to lose my mind.  I haven't proven your guilt But I followed you today Watched you weave through cars oooh Drivin On the fast lane.... And when you took the turn Into a neighborhood A woman answered Ooooh and I understood! You're such a runaround Doing what you're doin Such a runaround,   ooooh  Loving every woman And if you could only see, what you do to me,  You'd know I'm the best you'll ever find, But you're a runaround and deceiving me, and I'm  About to lose my mind.  You said you don't luv her  .... oh that you only have eyes for me You said that you're sorry  .....ooooh  That it meant nothing But when you turned aroun

Sisters Our Soulmates

Image
We tell our feelings,   We share our fear... We talk of the reasons Of what brought us here.  We tell of passion.... Of love that we've made We talk of madness And the love that we crave. We know we've felt Their struggles before But a sister will warn you Or hold your hand through the uproar. We've held each other Through struggles and tears, Held each other's hair back From too many beers! We've been there through boyfriends, husbands, and others We're sisters, wives, girlfriends And mothers. We love our sisters Never consider their age, We encourage their dreams And help them off stage! We've been there through childbirth Fertility, weight gain.... We've seen people's loss We've laughed through the pain. We take each other in As a sign of mana... But make no promises. There will never  be drama!   We are the daughters Each other's sisters and friends-   We are each other'

Savor the Memory

I want to save everything of this memory I want to keep the thought of you And what you mean to me. I want to savor this moment Like the taste or sweet smell that I can never get enough of... -I want it to last. I want to save this moment To remember back and see your face again, And oh, to hear your laugh.

The girl with the braids

The girl who ran the gift stand today Was only ten or eleven  She was standing in for her mom Working with her grandpop... Asked what kind of day I was having. She said she'd give me the mask at a discount She added it all up in her head And when I was wrong she requoted the price saying  I owed her thirty three US dollars instead!   She had long dark braids  down to her shoulders Beautiful sparking eyes Had a dimple in one cheek  Wore a plaid skirt  And seemed (for her age) astonishingly wise. She looked like she liked helping her grandpa  It looked like he liked it too!   She had such a business savy... She had a flair for making deals, What was there left for a gpa to do?  She told me she like math the best And calculating came so easy Wondering what one day she'll become A business woman, a doctor? Maybe she'll teach..... Too bad I'll probably never see.  I'm just a visitor in San Ignacio today The

Should I Believe What You Say?

Image
Should I believe what you say? Cuz Baby, I don't think so... There's no use in holding on When we have to tip toe. So should I believe what you said? What you say and do's so different There's no use payin the rent When you haven't!! Cuz you like to talk too much-. I've seen it in your eyes There's no room for love when Ego has no disguise. I'm movin on from yesterday Packing my bags and leavin tomorrow. I've got a full life ahead And I'm going solo. Maybe you think I'll fail... That I'm too weak to decide I'm leaving-  And my  Eyes are open wide.... .
