Blackbird Poetry

Please leave my heart how you found it. Unbroken and so true Don't tell me about all the things  that you're wanting to do Don't pretend it's not over I don't want to know Just take your things with you As you quietly go. Don't try to console me I'm better here alone There's nothing that can be said That hasn't already been shown. Please don't look for me  to tell me-  Just let yourself out. My life will go on, (a s it did  before)  you came about.  And if you truly care about me. You'll leave me in this way Let's not f--- it up any more By bad things we might say. Let's part as equals Possibly friends, And I'll think about you sometime When the time lends. I love the fact you loved me I love the fact I loved you. Please don't ever doubt it Because our love was true. And the fact that  I don't  want to know... Is clear enough to me I'd rather live oblivious Than to know it will ...

Unsettled dust Finally Settled that day When your stupid car finally Pulled away- It would be the last time Of our bickering And I thought I heard Someone say: They started as friends Then turned into lovers, She had her writing, And he had so many others- But theirs was an almost love affair- It was obvious to most That they both really cared..... And that they still do. I took the furniture You got the car I got settled in an apartment Friends saw you at the bar. At least there's no more bickering And I went out again one day- When friends asked I'd tell them We had everything in common We had started as friends Had given it a good run.... We started as friends Then turned into lovers, I had my writing, But there had been so many others- It was an almost love affair- We fought all the time And you never listened Our wedding vows went bad But something still glistened. And I'd see you around f rom time to time. But It was obvious to me that you really cared.... And though ...

This song is for the dreamers For the sensitive at play For the artists and musicians That teach us what words don't always say It's for the maddening verbrato  For the echo of the drum For the painter's precision of the tomato And for the defined guitarist's strum.  It's for the singers and the songwriters  Who put their whole soul on the line. It's for the cartoonists and the writers  And chef's artistry where we dine. It's for the designers and choreographers that add beauty And life to what we see Its for those who choose to live  Their lives more creatively.
